Lanosterol belongs to fourth triterpene compounds, which is the compound from which all steroids are derived. Melting point is 140～141℃.

A white odorless powder extracted from the sterol rich fraction of wool grease. Bonds very well with solvents being highly lipophilic when used as a thickener and is very stable, rarely crystallizing from the solvent when used.
