Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which is used to ease the pain and swelling caused by arthritis and other conditions involving inflammation. The risks of taking piroxicam may outweigh the benefits in some circumstances, but the patient may need extra monitoring.
